Part of the fun of working with wood is that you never really know what's lurking beneath the surface. This Rigid started as a large Walnut slab with occasional fissures, which were gravity pour filled with copper resin before separating it into Rigid blanks. Turning this to shape revealed additional voids, which received contrast gold resin. A traditional, mild mannered walnut with nice figuring at first glance, but something otherworldly peers out from the end.
